Each tire ever manufactured is coded by the tire factory. This is to provide every end user and mechanic the basic information of the tire. You should never buy a tire without checking the code and sticking to it when buying rims and tires.
This is very important because your custom rims and tires will affect the performance of your vehicle. Each vehicle is calibrated with a specific set of tire codes. In other words, it’s done very scientifically, which includes the height of the tire, the weight it can carry and the tire pressure. It also takes into consideration the suspension system used in the car so that your tires will last longer, and safety is always top priority.
When you have purchased your rims and tires, make sure to have them checked at least every 6 months, or earlier if you are going on a long trip with your vehicle.
