Using solar power for camping is a great use of the sun as a resource. Outdoor solar lights have detector to collect the sun and charge the battery to drive the lights. If you were to placed the detector on the top of your backpack or around your tent facing the sun, then the battery could be charged whilst you were walking of hiking or playing. When it gets dark you have power to run your lights for the evening and any emergencies that may crop up. Imagine no other batteries to run out or be forgotten or left behind! The solar cells charge up every day, so less to carry. You can also use solar power for other camping items such as powering fridges.
