Well people always bang on about how romantic a canopy bed is and I guess any bed is pretty romantic when your staying in a plush, state of the art hotel. I wanted to take a moment to post about a really romantic night that my wife and I spent, not in a canopy bed, but certainly under canopy covers.
We were on safari in Africa and stayed out in the bush for several nights in one of those large canvas tents. We had a double camping bed which doesn’t sound very glamorous but had a real “Out of Africa” quality to us. Finally draped down over the bed was this big white voluminous mosquito net that just looked so cool. When we got into bed at the end of a hot day we really did feel like grand colonial couple.
