If your hair is fine or thinning due to hair loss, it can be a real struggle to style.
For starters, avoid products that are heavy and will only weigh limp hair down more. Hair gel is not your friend if it’s the type that dries stiff, which most do. Gelled hair clumps together leaving long avenues of scalp visible for all to see. Use products made specifically for pumping up volume, and use them with a light hand. Less is more with fine hair.
A great haircut can make all the difference. Yes, really. When once your locks just lay there limp as wet linguine, a cut that makes the most of your hair’s texture will make them come to life, able to stand on their own and look damn good doing it, too.
And while you’re there, ask the stylist about color. Hair color can add body and dimension that gives the illusion of lusher hair.
