The main reason you shouldn’t use boots for infants is – they don’t need it.
Since infants can’t walk, they don’t really need boots on their feet. They need something to keep their feet warm, but not shoes or boots. Boots are used for older children that are able to walk. For them boots would be an excellent choice, it will keep their feet warm and dry too, but also protect their feet from the underground when walking around.
For infants, it’s enough with a pair of good socks to keep them warm. Only when it is very cold, or very wet, could they need a pair of boots. Winter boots for infants are a good way of keeping their small feet warm in the winter and infant rain boots will keep them dry when it’s raining.
