A TFT monitor is a thin film transistor monitor.  It is the most common type of LCD monitor on the market today.  The main difference between TFT and non-TFT LCD monitors is that TFT monitors have a transistor for each pixel.  This gives TFT monitors the capability of resetting their images considerably quicker than other LCD monitors, giving the user a smooth flowing image.  LCD monitors have been known to show image blur, where a moving image seems to blur across the screen as it moves, but TFT monitors don’t have that problem..  They also tend to have more pixels than other LCD monitors, which results in a better quality image.  There response rates, which is the time it takes for a pixel to reset, do vary.  This is an important thing to consider when purchasing one.
