Whether in a direct battle like a football game, or an indirect contest like archery, competition is fun. Games and all types of sports pit one person or team against another, as they struggle to see which one is better, or at least luckier. The drawback to many sports is the very real likelihood of physical injury: a twisted knee, broken arm or black eye can quickly eliminate the fun for those playing. Laser tag and paintball offer safer “war games” type of competition, but these usually require expensive equipment or special arenas for play. Furthermore, the paintballs can be painful and leave bruises, unless the players are wearing protective equipment.
Marshmallow guns for sale are easy to find and provide a safe alternative which is just as entertaining as the more painful and expensive laser tag and paintball. Not only are the guns themselves much more inexpensive to buy, but the “bullets” used are miniature marshmallows which are not only soft and cheap, but edible. Also, using PVC pipe, or some other sort of plastic plumbing pipe, people can make their own marshmallow guns. This could be a fun and inexpensive party idea for children of all ages. Younger children would need help to assemble the guns, or the parents could have them already made, and have the children decorate the guns with markers and stickers. Once the guns are ready, the children could each be given a supply of miniature marshmallows, and have a fun “battle,” either choosing teams, going free-for-all or setting up a target to see who has the most accurate aim.
The principle behind marshmallow guns is to use a blast of air to force the marshmallow through the pipe and out the end. Home-made guns require the player to blow through one end, while store-bought guns use pump action as the source of air, which provides more force and allows the marshmallow to go farther.
Any object moving with enough speed and force could possibly cause injury to the eyes, so even though marshmallows are small and soft, the players should take care not to aim at their opponents’ faces. It would also be a good idea for them to wear goggles, masks, or some other protective eye-wear, just to be on the safe side.
