For basketball players and even those who simply love the game, a powerful slam dunk is always a sight to behold. That is the reason why most ball players these days are trying hard to find ways on how to jump higher to dunk in order for them to level up their game, but sometimes they just want to learn this skill to be able to show off. However, you will need a huge amount of discipline on your part for you to achieve such skill. You need to follow specific jumping exercises to increase vertical lift.

When you jump, you apply force on your legs and feet and for you to be able to take off much higher, more force is required. With this, you need to train and strengthen your leg muscles, so you will be able to explode and shoot up with tremendous force. There are by far thousands of ways for you accomplish this goal. Some of these techniques are so simple that you tend to overlook them. Here are a few techniques that can help you with your cause.

- Stand up straight with your hands on your side. Push your body up using only your toes, feel your calves contract, then release it by going down slow. Do this repeatedly and remember to focus your attention on your calves as they constrict.

- Jump up and go down with your toes then your heels. Bend your knees, lower your body down into a sitting position, but do not let your buttocks touch the ground, then shoot up once again. Start off with an easy jump then gradually build up the pace by jumping up as high as you can.

- Go jogging or sprinting

- Do jumping jacks or skip ropes

- Give your leg muscles a good stretch every now and then. This will help relax your muscles and promote proper blood circulation in this particular muscle group as well.

Here at United Articles we will be teaching you how to jump higher today.  The best part about jumping is that it’s something most people can do and everyone can improve their vertical leaping ability.  Lets look at some great exercises you can do at home to start jumping higher fast.

Jump Squats-  These are great because you don’t need any equipment, you simply use your own body weight.  You squat down and then jump up as high as you can and land going into another squat.  These are done quickly and you need to try to get as high as you can each and every time you jump.  Keep the reps low so that you can get high each time you jump.  Do 4 sets of 8 reps.
