Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s friend Flash didn’t have a dog bed as such. The canine who kept the Victorian poet company during her protracted illness simply had a cushion on the floor by her bed.
Flash was as devoted to his mistress as she was to him and she dedicated many of her poems to him.
When Elizabeth married fellow poet Robert Browning against her father’s wishes, she pulled back the dog bed cover from Flash’s cushion, picked up her little friend and took him on honeymoon.
More recently, dog lover Gina Hetherington took all six of her pet pooches on honeymoon in 2004.
An increasing number of hotels and guest houses are now accepting dogs as guests.
Some are even allowed to share the family bedroom.

Many pet owners love their animals to death and want to spoil them in any way they can. Unfortunately this has resulted in them feeding the animal human food, which in most cases will harm them as they are not built to consume that kind of food. There is a reason that someone developed something called dog food and cat food. It is a matter of getting the right vitamins, minerals and all the other important nutrients.
Without proper nutrition you will see that your pet will start getting tired, becoming ill more frequently and it will perhaps even lose its good mood. And all this can be traced back to mal-nutrition. If you get to that point you should be sure to have a good pet insurance plan that will cover most of the costs. Treating a sick animal can become very expensive and some pet owners will simply not have the money to pay for the treatment… and you know what the alternative to that is, right?
