Stretch marks are often caused during times of pregnancy, weight gain, puberty or muscle building. Partly because the skin is often stretched during these times beyond it’s elasticity level, but partly because of hormonal changes during these times.
Since they are actually little scars caused by tearing the middle layer of skin complete stretch mark removal is difficult, but there are ways to lighten stretch marks and reduce their appearance if they have already formed.
No one wants those unsightly marks. For some people they can be pretty hard on the self esteem so having a way to lessen the appearance can be important. This can be especially true for teens going through puberty and pregnant women who still want to feel attractive after having a baby.
