For many petite women, finding jeans that fit well is an everyday struggle. Pregnancy can make the petite woman’s body even more difficult to fit into a pair of great jeans. However, maternity clothes have come a long way in the last few years. Now women of all shapes and sizes can actually find clothes that are fashionable and fit well.
The first thing to consider when selecting your petite maternity jeans is your budget. This is because maternity jeans in all sizes are available from discount stores like Wal-Mart, low priced clothing stores like Old Navy, maternity specialty stores including Motherhood Maternity, and even designers like Seven For All Mankind. You can spend anywhere from twenty to two hundred dollars for a single pair of jeans.
Once you determine your budget, try on several different types of blue-jeans. All womens clothing, especially maternity wear, can greatly vary in size and cuts, so it’s always a good idea to try on each brand, even if you think you know what size you wear. Be sure that you are specifically buying petite cut jeans, as they will be cut differently than jeans with a short inseam.
Consider buying at least two or three pairs of jeans that are well fitting, these will become a go-to outfit, especially towards the end of the pregnancy when just getting out of bed can seem like an overwhelming task. Also consider purchasing different styles: a fitted-skinny leg jean, a wide-leg jean, or a boot-cut jean. This will give you different options for different looks when getting ready each day.
While the jeans may set you back some dollars, there may be options for other cheap maternity outfits. Consider trading with friends and family. Sometimes a coworker will be willing to lend you her clothes until it’s time for her next pregnancy.
