A dental appointment can be pretty nasty, until the professional tasked to hide the pain steps in – the oral sedation dentistry. With his or her knowledge about anesthetics, one or a few injections of anesthesia could turn a terrible treatment into a painless procedure. Sedation dentists are vigilant when it comes to how the patient is feeling, so you can rely on them to take much of the pain away.
A serving of anesthesia is enough to conceal the sensations induced by teeth being pulled or nerves being killed. Usually, some pain can still be felt, but it is dramatically lessened, making most painful procedures quite tolerable. If you think you won’t last for the entire operation, you can always ask for an extra dose of anesthesia, anyway.
