What causes dark circles under the eyes? It is usually a lack of circulation, or dehydration, or both. So on those days when plenty of exercise and enough water still results in darkening under the eyes, you will want to use eye concealer.
If you look carefully at the circles under your eyes, you will notice that they are not black. Most people come to see that the circles under their eyes are a shade of blue. To neutralize any color, blend it with the color in opposite position on the color wheel. This is why for most people the most effective eye concealer makeup is a pink or peach color. If you use an under the eye concealer of that is too light, you will only accentuate the problem.
To apply the eye concealer, you can use a special eye concealer brush or your fingers. If you use your fingers you will gain the benefit of smooth blending due to your natural body warmth. The heat in your hands will naturally warm up the concealer, making it easier to blend in with your skin. If you use a concealer brush, you must then go back and press the concealer into your skin with the fingers.
The first step is to wash your face thoroughly and pat dry. Then apply a light coat of your chosen foundation makeup. Start applying the eye concealer in the corner of your eye nearest to your nose. Do your best to completely cover this area of your face, as most people have bluish veins in this area, making deep, dark places on the face.
Next apply a very thin layer of foundation over the top of your concealer. This will keep your concealer from smudging or being rubbed off.
The final stage in covering up under eye circles is to lighten the corners next to your nose with an eye brightener. Blend this in thoroughly but very gently.
