Gout Home Remedies and Smoothies

After suffering a terrible gout attack, my friend gave me a suggestion.  He suggested of all things eating fruit smoothies.  He stated they were great gout home remedies.  I almost laughed at the suggestion.  How in the world would a fruit smoothie help me get rid of gout?  My friend told me that the fruits in the smoothie were very good at helping the underlying condition causing gout.

He stated vitamin C in the fruit has been found in studies to help reduce hyperuricemia.  This is the main underlying problem that causes this painful problem.  He said that by themselves, most fruits can’t get rid of it, but together they form a potent treatment and that when you blend them in the smoothie, you get more nutritional benefit than simply eating the fruit.

Other helpful benefits of eating the smoothies for gout is some of the fruits such as bananas and pineapples have bromelain which is a pain reliever.  Other fruits such as cherries and blueberries help with the inflammation.  So, altogether you can really help yourself by eating smoothies.  I tried it and it seemed to help and it sure is tastier than taking pills.
