If you are heading out for a fishing trip on the open ocean, there are few things more important to the success of your trip than the correct saltwater tackle. One of the keys is to have a large quantity of things and also a large assortment. Having an assortment of different tackle will help you to adjust and adapt and not leave you high and dry, and without fish, should conditions change. A large quantity of equipment ensures that if something fails or you lose a piece you still have backups to use. The specific types of tackle you should be looking at brining are hooks, weights, leaders and swivels, and riggings. Riggings are especially important because they hold the bait, so they need to appear as lifelike as possible. Swivels keep the line from being twisted, leaders prevent the line from being bitten in two, and of course hooks are also important because they are how you catch the fish.
