Black Forest cuckoo clocks are perhaps the best known collectable wall clock.
Around two centuries ago, the first cuckoo clock was designed by a man named Franz Kettler in a Triberg village which is located in the middle of German’s Black Forest.
These Black Forest cuckoo clocks were intricately designed with expensive carved details and a hand carved cuckoo bird. At each hour the bird came out with vibrant chimes, pendulums and weights.
Most of the cuckoo clocks are made up of wood. However some internal parts are made up of brass so that it can hold up longer.
