Today’s water beds are much more advanced than the units we use to see in the seventies and eighties. Many water beds today come with mattresses that have many smaller compartments that fill with water, instead of one large compartment. Breaking up the mattress this way allows for less overall movement when someone gets out of the bed, which means a sleeping partner may not wake up when the other moves around. It is also very helpful in not allowing extra air pockets to occur in the mattress, which can lead to an annoying water sloshing sound within the bed. Most certainly, if this noise is too common and too loud, it will keep people awake. When you go searching for a new water bed, make sure you test all of the models available, and ask plenty of questions.
